Endless Daze Festival 2017 – Third Announcement

We’re excited to release the last batch of acts for Psych Night & Vans Present: Endless Daze Festival 2017

BLK JKS

The BLK JKS haven’t played a show in Cape Town for years and we cannot wait to see this very special band at #Endlessdaze2017

“Dubbed the rightful heirs to the original ‘Afro Futurists’, luminescent reps to the essence of their generation, the BLK JKS are an internationally acclaimed award winning South African post rock band of a completely unique order.”

The Deathrettes

The Deathrettes, having opened up last years festival with a blistering set of garage bangers, are the first band to have ever played the Endless Daze main stage!

Their sound can best be described as Garage Groove, drawing influence from early 60’s psych and modern garage music.

Hyroine

Womxn working together; womxn supporting each other; womxn and men acting in a healthy way towards each other. We are here to learn and pass on intuitive knowledge to each other – music being the primary space for that interaction.

Hyroine believes that vulnerability is a strength, that being naked is empowering. She believes in turning perceived weaknesses into strengths. That’s how she learns to love herself. It’s a perception game that allows new ideas to emerge.

Travel with her into a glittering night with sparkling purple dust on your skin. Walk beside her on a pink cloudy day on rained out streets. She’ll lend you her lighter, she’ll make you hummus. She’s an educated woman. Her intuition is intelligent.

Dangerfields

Dangerfields create an upbeat, hazy atmosphere with their own interpretation of post-punk & shoegaze.

With a reputation for energetic, tight performances and attention to detail, their music is sometimes compared to classic post-punk acts such as Joy Division and The Cure, as well as contemporary festival favourites such as The Horrors, Diiv and The War on Drugs. They released their first EP “Embers” in June 2016, and a follow-up “Ashes” in April 2017. Both releases were critically praised and the band is currently in the early stages of writing their first full length album.

Two Stroke

Two Stroke is a new female-fronted Garage Rock outfit from Cape Town full of warm fuzz and a gentle dose of psychedelic stylings.
It started out as a solo project by Ellenie Eloff and evolved into a three piece backed by Louis and Marcel Christie.

They released a three track E.P. and are busy performing live around Cape Town at the moment.

Luma

Jenny Dison, a long time member of Bye Beneco, merged her sound with some of South Africa’s most left field producers and talented musicians, Alex Leeu, Thor Rixon, Tshepang Ramoba and Struan Watt. Each of them coming from different backgrounds in music. The group does not adhere to one genre. You can hear influences of electronica, alternative, psych-rock, disco, house, afro-beat, and funk in the music.

This is a growing project that thrives off mixing electronic beats with live instrumentation, creating a distinctive feel. LUMA is known for its collaborations which further encourages their experimental elements.

Twin Weaver

One of our favourite new artist discoveries of the year, Twin Weaver, is a four piece alternative-pop group based in Cape Town.

Drawing influence from a myriad of psychedelic sources – from shoegazers such as My Bloody Valentine to the likes of Dream Pop duo Beach House – the band distills those sounds into introspective, dream-like songs that are bound to leave you in a daze. Formed in late 2016, Twin Weaver has already captured the attention of the Cape Town music scene through a string of singles that they have independently released. They are self produced, self recorded and self conscious. You can find them sitting on a porch thinking about you.

Van T

If it were possible to meld the heart of Mazzy Star, the soul of PJ Harvey, and pure poetic prowess of Throwing Muses’ Tanya Donelly into a solitary star she’d go by the name Chantel Van T.

Alternative, indie, ambient folk, Van T flies against rigid style classification thanks to the energy driving each track. “These songs are close to home,” she admits. “Each is rooted and grounded in space and time. It’s been a cathartic, intense and exciting journey to here.

After Hours Dj’s

THAT’S RIGHT BABY, IT’S AFTER HOURS. The most notorious feather throwing, werewolf hiring, booze pouring, pop music playing party in town is coming back to #EndlessDaze2017!
